I am developing modular fittings for use around the home, starting with an LED light and accompanying fitting. The parts are designed to be easily 3D printable and use standard metal parts and hardware where available.

LED Light

The Light housing can be easily reprapped in two parts which screw together. The connections are made using standard bolts which screw into nuts housed in the casing. The nuts are then connected by wires to a pcb in the light. My first PCB design will be a very simple parallel circuit but I plan to design one to use a low power processor such as the MSP430 to allow fine control of the lighting via mobile/pc/web through the home server.
